About Us
YAYASAN RAJA MUDA SELANGOR (YRMS) was launched by Duli Yang Maha Mulia (DYMM) Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah Alhaj during his coronation as the Sultan of Selangor, in the year 2003. The current patron is Duli Yang Teramat Mulia (DYTM) Tengku Amir Shah, the Crown Prince of Selangor or fondly known as RMS (Raja Muda Selangor).
With the aspiration of doing something different, YRMS was established on the belief that there are youths who are not academically inclined but have hidden skills and talents which can be nurtured through TVET programmes. These youths, if given a chance and proper guidance, will be able to achieve their dreams in their field of interest.
The Foundation offers scholarships to underprivileged youths between 16 to 30 years old. This opportunity is open to all Malaysian citizens in the country, of all races and religion. YRMS also provides skills-based training to single mothers and unemployed youths for income generation opportunities.
YRMS also provides counselling services, basic financial aid, professional training, in addition to doubling up as mentors in order to give encouragement to these youths, towards building a solid platform for them in the world of business. The target group are youths with hidden talents and skills, from poor families, specifically, youths who are not academically inclined.
Our Mission
The mission of YRMS is based on the belief that every individual has a certain inborn talent that may to be brought forth in line with the focus of the foundation based on the premises below:
- YRMS provide chances for youths to realize their dreams;
- YRMS cooperates with individuals, corporate supporters, national organizations and state bodies in order to reach certain objectives;
- YRMS identifies and structures effective training programmes, so as to help youths attain a higher style of living; and,
- YRMS organizes events in line with public policies so that the development for the good of youths can be achieved and at the same time encourage donors at the state and national level.
The YAYASAN RAJA MUDA SELANGOR supports the development of personality, attitude, and skills of talented youths through the three principles stated below:
YRMS monitors the development of youths and their skills and later assist them towards starting their own business. In order to move towards that goal, YRMS provides counselling services; basic financial aid, professional skills training and also takes up the role of mentors in order to give youths the much-needed encouragement towards every grain of effort shown by them so that they can build a solid platform in the business world.
The training programmes are pre-arranged in a fixed schedule. These programmes provide a learning experience that functions to increase the confidence level in youths in order for them to achieve their target and ambition.
YRMS creates awareness to stimulate networking efforts and interaction along with social empathy and responsibility towards the society among the youths, by driving encouragement and support to those who are in need of help and assistance in life.
